The crusades were a very brutal and hostile period in time. There were many different wars involving many different religious groups including children. The crusade was a very slow and pointless battle with no substantial movement among both sides of their armies.
The first crusade started around the year of 1905, when the pope Urban II called all the knights of the land to go to war and reclaim the Holy Land from an unknown powerful forces. Later in the battle the Pope discovered that the powerful force was an entire muslim army. The knights main goals was to retake jerusalem and reclaim any other land taken by the muslims. Finally they completed their objective to only hold control of the city for less than a year. That didn't last very long either, and that is how the second crusade started.

As the crusaders set up these towns the mamluk dynasty from egypt had been growing in secrecy and out complete surprise, they pummeled the coastal stronghold of acre in less than 7 days.
