magine you're on the street and people are all around you. Little do you know you are surrounded by ex criminals that have committed crimes that could have faced the death penalty. Then all of a sudden a criminal comes and beats you up and takes all your things. How would feel about that? I myself would not feel great being surrounded by criminals that could have deadly intentions. Research has also been found that 77 percent of criminals are back in jail within 5 years. That's a high number of them that repeat what they have done, so if they were murderers, they might repeat their actions and murder someone else. This is why I think that the death penalty should be legal In all states.

The eighth amendment says that cruel and unusual punishments shall not be inflicted. The fifth amendment says that the government may not deprive a person from life due to law, but the u.s. Supreme court ruled that the death penalty is not a cruel or unusual punishment under the eighth amendment. In 1970 the supreme court ruled that the death penalty is unlawful, so the states changed the procedure to satisfy the court so they see it as fair. Through all of this the death penalty is able to be legal in all states. Since I think it should be legal i also think that the death penalty should only be used when a criminal convicts a high enough crime. If the criminal robs something like a bank, I don’t think that deserves the death penalty. I don’t think these big things deserve death because they did not deprive someone else from their life. If you go out and murder someone I definitely think it should be given the death penalty. I think every most murderer should be given death or life because they took
