Communication is important and even more so when someone has a condition such as Parkinson’s. The muscles in the facial area of a person with Parkinson’s become rigid and stiff. (Roberts) This causes a person’s voice to be quiet and unclear. A person also talks quickly and while slurring words. I have experienced this with a friend of mine who has Parkinson’s disease. Communication is hard and people with Parkinson’s disease are often asked to repeat--or speak--something louder. Many things have been made to correct the speech of someone with Parkinson’s disease, but there is no treatment that can permanently fix this
