In summary, population growth was a big staple from 1700 to 1750. This was across whites, europeans and enslaved people. Scotch-Irish immigrants came and settled along the boundary of the colony and Indians, to buffer between the two. It was the cheapest and ended up seizing their land. They also helped with the population since they came into families. The enslaved population was growing more than ever before, because according to Mcgerr, they brought in over half a million through trade and these families would have six to eight children. Enslaved families did not grow as big as white families since the mortality rate for enslaved newborns was higher than white newborns.
