In the movie the house of the old is not as important as in the book. In the book Jonas was also number fifty three in the movie he was nineteen. I think this was to make the audience think there were more graduates in the class. When I read the book it seemed like there were about fifty some people in every age group.This made the community seem small as well as the population, but in the movie it seemed like the people were well into the hundreds.
In the book there was a river surrounding the community and all Jonas had to do was cross it and reach the boundaries of memories that once Jonas reached all the people in the community would once again have memories. Well in the movie it was just an edge that just seemed to keep going straight. The movie was definitely more suspenseful it kept you on the edge of your seat wondering if Fiona was going to get injected or would Jonas be able to reach the boundary of memories in time to save her.
The things in the movie that were the same as the book were the fact that the houses were all the same weird shape. The age in the community that you first received a bicycle were also the same. The clothes were the same color as in the book and movie but in different
