The Gospel of Mark is the Gospel that appears second in the New Testament. We were asked to find differences in this Gospel compared to the others. Interestingly enough, Mark is debated about when it was written.

"...Mark still earlier in the fifties or late forties (Gundry 152)."

Yet, the date is not what sets Mark apart form the other Gospels, its the fact that Mark does not dwell on Jesus' birth, but instead his ministry.

"In reading Mark as an epic, the Messianic secret is Christ's extended life among us after the resurrection in a world that is not yet ready to know him (Heide 380)."

Mark has a way of telling a story in a fashion that is easy to follow. All throughout Mark, it is clearly shown that this book is about. Jesus' birth
