Reading has also been a part of me and has shaped my view of the world in so many ways.

Personally, my passion began as a young child reading bible stories. As I grew older my literature classes ignited my passion for reading. Great Gatsby is also one of my favorite books, and I could read it over and over. Conroy's quote, "I trust the greatest novelists how to live, how to feel, and how to hate." is something that I think all passionate readers can personally relate to.

However, it never occurred to me, until I read what our classmates had to say, about the difference between cultures where reading is a prevalent past time and passion, and a culture where reading is not common, or even looked down upon. I will always be thankful for the
