The short story, “The Half Husky” written by, Margaret Laurence, it clearly shows character change. Three primary characters, Harvey, a boy who has been through an abusive family and is always trying to get into trouble. Vanessa, a young girl growing up in a lovely home and Nanuk, A half husky dog that was picked up by Vanessa and brought into her home. They go through some drastic change in the story showing how a person's influence can change the way you act. This was all because of what harvey did to Nanuk and the abuse his family had on him. To add the all of this she is always talking about how she wants to hurt him and make him pay for what he did to Nanuk. “ i wanted to injure him... In any way available.” Vanessa became ten times more abusive when harvey stated to beat on Nanuk and because of it, it could potentially hurt others around
