6.0 Conclusion
This investigation has highlighted that the self-perceived role of coach, within Physical Education is a very subjective and personal thing. Coach’s attitudes and experiences directly influence how coaches perceive and directly as a result determine the impact coaches have on Physical Education. Results have shown, that coaches have a baseline of understanding of the National Curriculum which can be channelled through their enthusiasm and knowledge of coaching sports, to create an environment in which pupils can be encouraged to participate and get enjoyment out of Physical Education. The uses of coaches can benefit children because of the wide range of sports and opportunity pathways, that coaches can offer, these pathways lead in to local clubs and participation into adult life. …show more content…
The ideal role for coaches to play in physical education would be to work alongside teachers to optimise the quality of primary physical education. By working with teachers, coaches can integrate the subject knowledge of teachers to hit the benchmarks of the national curriculum with a coach’s ability to deliver the lesson in a sporting environment, which is something they are used to doing day to day. Although it has been shown that there is a role that coaches can play to help in delivering physical education the wider consensus in the education world is that teachers should be able and as result should deliver physical education with no required help from
