Being able to graduate high school was one of my proudest moments to date. I thought several times that I’m not going to make out of here and that I should just quit. Being able to show my family that I can make it and walk across the stage with them there made the day even more special to me. Perseverance and determination is what helped me get it through then, and hopefully it’ll help me get through college now.
You hear students moan and groan everyday about how hard school is, well add me to that list. For me school was a challenge. Something I thought I wouldn’t be able to overcome. Research papers for English was pretty difficult, but not nearly as hard as math was. Once math teachers started to add letters to the equation, everything went downhill from there. It was as if the information that went into my brain from all the equations left me as soon as I exited the classroom. Struggling to pass each test that came. I battled with being exhausted from lack of sleep and so much information being crammed in my brain from eight hours of school. Making a transition like that was a bit difficult because there were certain requirements I had to accomplished. My family was worried that I would have some trouble with going to a new school in a completely different state. Well they weren’t wrong. Having to get used to new teachers and trying to pass their state test wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. Well the state test was a little bit easier than the one I had to take over the years, but I digress. When I finally was able to pass everything and show my family that I made it through, I was able to show them that I can do anything if I put effort into
