A story of migration that I read and really liked was a story about a girl named Paw. Paw is from Myanmar/Burma. She moved from her village to a refugee camp in Thailand. She stayed at the refugee camp for 14 years before moving to the U.S.
Are there any ways the story opened your eyes?
As I read Paw’s story, I started to realize that there are many children all over the world that suffer from hardship. Many never make it to a place where they can have a better life. I also learned that the children who come to the U.S. have a lot of changes. They have to learn new languages and rules. They often feel lost and left out. Some get bullied because they are different.
