The Odyssey, by Homer, is still a relevant lesson in classrooms today because of the humanity exibited in it that is relatable today despite being so old, relating in ways where it shows many of the common fears of man, the tale of war and its effects on the veterans, and of its countless references in other fictional pieces for decades. “The literary record comes through loud and clear, showing many universal fears echoed through time”(Torgovnick).
