Euthanasia or mercy killings is a topic most people don’t have to face head on, unlike George in the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. His forced choice between killing a loved one or have to keep running every time Lennie does something wrong. The idea of ending the life of a loved one seems impossible, but when this loved one hurts people without even seeing the harm that they are causing. George was left with no choice but take the life of Lennie.
Some may argue that George should have let Lennie go to on his own. Lennie would never be able to live on his own, he would forget where and what he was doing. He would probably get loose and starve to death. What if George went with? Well Lennie most likely end up doing something worse.
