One of the many similarities between the main characters is their impatience or rashness. Romeo, for example, is quick to life changing decisions such as marriage. At the start, he is deeply in love with a woman named Rosaline and falls in a deep depression when he finds out she does not love him back. One night, he goes to a party and meets Juliet for the first time. He instantly falls in love with Juliet and searches for her that night, hiding in bushes and climbing walls. Without knowing anything about this girl except for her outstanding looks, he decides to pronounce his ever lasting love and woo her. The next morning he announces to the Friar, “We met, we wooed, and made exchange of vow/I’ll tell thee as we pass, but this I pray./ That thou consent to marry us today” (II.iii.66-68). Romeo can not wait another day to marry this woman, though he has just met her. The Friar warns that the marriage is too hasty, but Romeo will not listen and marries Juliet less than a day after meeting her. But Romeo is not the only one who rushed into things.
