The Slender Man The Slender Man is described as a six foot tall man dressed in a black business suit. The legend says that The Slender Man was beat with a log, stabbed with a stick, and hung from a tree with his arms and legs out of their sockets. The Slender Man is said to appear in open areas in the woods and near empty roads. The Slender man is the focus of many “Creepy Pasta” stories where the ending is ambiguous allowing for the reader to decide the fate of the characters in the stories. The stories take place in the woods and usually at night. The Slender Man story has even inspired a game where the player runs away from The Slender Man. The game and stories involving The Slender Man are typically meant to be scary and classified as horror (The Slender Man)

The German story similar to The Slender Man is known as Der Großman where the monster was a fairy that stalked The Black Forest and would torment bad children until the children confessed what they have done wrong to their parents. There are similar stories related even an ancient painting of a man with elongated limbs that dated back to the eighteenth century.
