To Kill a Mockingbird is a book that almost every highs chool has to read. This book is list at an 8th grade reading level, but over 44 million Americans that can’t read this book. According to licteracyprojectfoundation.org there are over 45 million Americans that are illiterate and can’t read over the 5th grade level. Illiteracy is a problem in America that a lot of people don’t address because of shame. illiteracy is defined as the lack of basic reading, writing skills to function in modern society. Social media is not the only modern tool that these people are missing out on. Nearly half of these people live in poverty.
But there is a way to help illiteracy but 1st you have to understand the problem and cause.
