Legalizing Marijuana
Marijuana is the most commonly used drug throughout United States. My prospective is that marijuana will always be used for private reasons or for medicinal purposes. Why not legalize it for profit and benefited? Some may think that people are stupid if they smoke marijuana but they have every right to smoke marijuana. There is a higher percentage of people drinking and doing other illegal activities than smoking Marijuana. There are multiple pros and cons to smoking this herb. Smoking weed can relieve pain, vomiting, and nausea. It also helps with many diseases such as cancer and aids. Smoking this herb is less toxic than any other drug. It’s actually safer to smoke marijuana. If you can control your urges to smoke than smoking marijuana shouldn’t be a problem. “Marijuana has been accepted as capable of relieving the distress of great numbers of very ill people, and doing so with safety under medical supervision. It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for DEA to continue to stand between those sufferers and the benefits of this substance in light of the evidence in this record." Very little evidence shows that smoking marijuana can affect your health. "While it is not possible with existing data to determine conclusively that state medical marijuana laws caused the documented declines in adolescent marijuana use, the overwhelming downward trend strongly suggests that the effect of state medical marijuana laws on teen marijuana use has been either neutral or positive, discouraging youthful experimentation with the drug." These are all pros of smoking marijuana based of doctors and the facts are all there.
Now I’m not against this topic but there are some really good cons. "A new federal report released today concludes the younger children are when they first use marijuana, the more likely they are to use cocaine and heroin and become dependent on drugs as adults.” Nobody wants to watch their child grow up addicted to doing drugs, and weed is where it all usually starts off as. As people smoke weed it increases their urge to want to try something better, stronger, and different because what they are already smoking will be getting old and boring. “In summary, patients with preexisting immune deficits due to AIDS should be expected to be vulnerable to serious harm caused by smoking marijuana." There is evidence about how smoking will help people with AIDS but it will also damage some things which might lead to other types of sicknesses.
I have multiple people in my life who smoke this specific drug. They all have the same point of view and say that legalizing marijuana would be the smartest thing to do. One of them said “there is nothing wrong with smoking marijuana because a lot of people are under stress and need to have a stress-reliever which would be smoking to help calm them down” Another point of view would be John Walters. He is against legalizing this herb because "Smoking marijuana damages the brain, heart, lungs, and immune system. It impairs learning and interferes with memory,
