Theodore Roosevelt was born in 1858, in October, four days before Halloween. T. Roosevelt was a cowboy, politician, and a graduate from Harvard. He was carved into the side of Mount Rushmore with George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson. He also helped to establish the building of the Panama Canal. Theodore was a remarkable president of the United States of America, he was well known for his political side and he was very loving and intelligent child.
T. Roosevelt was intelligent and playful when he was just a little boy. Roosevelt had asthma and another illness that was not well known during the time period he grew up in. Even though he had these illnesses he still loved to go horseback riding, hiking, and collecting animals.

Roosevelt was very aware of what was going on in the political world around him. Theodore Roosevelt ran for mayor in 1886. Later that year on December 2, he married Edith Carow. After he ran for mayor, he joined the New York State Assembly. Not long after, Roosevelt was speeding through various public service positions, including captain of the National Guard, minority leader of the New York Assembly and the police commissioner of New York. But, a tragic event happened and His mother and wife were killed, so he became a cowboy and went west. There he organized a cavalry called “Rough Riders.” The cavalry helped fight during the Spanish American War. The battle during the war that made Roosevelt popular was the Battle of San Juan. This battle helped jumpstart Theodore Roosevelt’s campaign for Governor of New York. After T. Roosevelt returned he married another woman by the name of Edith Roosevelt. In 1998 Roosevelt was finally elected Governor of New York City. Roosevelt's progressive policies in New York ran him afoul of his own party, so Republican Party bosses plotted to quiet him by naming him on the McKinley ticket in the thankless post of vice president.
