President Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States of America.

Theodore was an outdoorsy kid and would combine his two favorite things, nature and reading, to do what he loved most, nature study! ("The Life of Theodore Roosevelt") Roosevelt went to Harvard to study history and government. ("The Life of Theodore Roosevelt") While studying Theodore met Alice Hathaway, and they soon got married. A couple of years later, right after Alice gave birth, she got sick and died the next day. Theodore was unfortunate because his mother died the same day. A year or so, after the death of his first wife, Alice, Theodore ran into an old friend of his, Edith Kermit Carow, they got married and in a span of 10 years Theodore had 6 children (one child from Alice). (History.com Editors) From 1881 to 1900, Theodore worked his way from Assemblyman to Assistant secretary of the Navy, then governor, and eventually Vice president, which led him to be the 26th president of the United States. Theodore changed how we run things in America, and always focused on making this country the best it could be. Theodore Roosevelt accomplished many things as president that included constructing the Panama Canal, strengthening the Navy, and receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

Completion of the Panama Canal, which made the way of transporting goods a lot easier, Theodore not only helped America, but helped the world. The Great White Fleet showed the world that America was a force and will always use its most peaceful way out, but if they chose to fight, they would be very difficult to defeat.
