This report is on my knowledge of the requirements for advertising. Specifically, for Therapeutic products, Medicinal products, and Cosmetic products. I used the guidelines found on the HSA website on requirements for the publication of an advertisements.
For therapeutic products, the public can view: GSL and P-only products advertisements. GSL standing for General Sales listing and P-only standing for Pharmacy only. (Explain what those are and the types). The P-only medicines advertisements, need to show two advisories. The first advisory being: Appropriate statements advising to read the PIL or the PI. PIL standing for Patient information leaflet and PI standing for Package insert. (Continue to talk on what those are). The second being for the

Yet, the advertisements put out need to follow the standards and requirements listed in the Health Products act and the regulations. The examples more specific to therapeutic products being that only therapeutic products can be advertised as a therapeutic product nor that it can function as one. No emphasis is to be made on how common a certain disease is, to avoid causing fear and/or alarm. Advertisements are not allowed to target its advertisements to children under 14 years of age. The advertisements are not to advertise about the therapeutic product being able to affect any of the disease or condition or any of its symptoms specified in the Second Schedule. “Affect” referring to being able to prevent, alleviate or cure. The specified diseases and conditions listed in the Second schedule include: Blindness, Cancer, Cataract, Conception and pregnancy, Deafness, Diabetes, Drug addiction, Epilepsy or fits, Frigidity, Hypertension, Impotency, Infertility, Insanity, Kidney diseases, Leprosy, Menstrual disorders, Paralysis, Sexual function and
