In chapter two of Think Like a Freak, award winning authors Steven Levvit and Stephen Dubner introduce the idea that admitting one’s own ignorance is the first obstacle to thinking in a radical way. The chapter, which is titled, “the three hardest words in the English language,” provides examples of people failing to admit their own lack of knowledge and explains why this refusal to admit uncertainty leads to failure.
