“There is a promise of peace for those who die in righteousness” Isaiah 57:11. I feel like this quote embodies the people who are represented by The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb represents everyone who has died for our country that has not been identified or was lost at war. The laying of the wreath of The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is an honor for all Americans. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only see the laying of the wreath but to participate in the ceremony. This experience is priceless and something I know I will treasure for the rest of my life. Everyone in my life knows I love history. The laying of the wreath represents honoring and giving respect to American service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and freedom without name recognition. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is an extremely important part of our nation. So important in fact, that there is a guard on standby 24 hours a day. For almost 90 years, since 1937, a highly trained honorable soldier has been standing at this tomb. As far as I am aware, there is no grave site more highly guarded. This made me wonder "What makes this grave so special?" It didn't take me long to find my answer: they are showing the American people that their grandpa, their daughter, their son, and their loved one who never came home, is important. It is so important that the United States of America is keeping guard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to defend their memory. They do not keep guard like this at John F. Kennedy's or Abraham Lincoln’s graves, both of which gave their ultimate sacrifice to their country. They also do not do this at Alexander Hamilton’s, or even George Washington’s,
