Through this action, students may glorify God and improve upon nature fulfilling the stewardship mandate. The second strength of the type IV belief is reconciliation. As stated before, type IVs rest in the idea that not all of the earth which God created is evil although it is corrupted by sin. This can be used to the advantage of schools by teaching students another way to strengthen their abilities for God’s glory. Students must understand the reasons behind what is alright versus what is not, can be emphasized through the introduction of rules, preferences, and moral law. For example, the Bible is clear in many areas of what is sin versus what is a “grey area” of the law, and how we train children causes them to see these grey areas in different ways. This leads us to the largest of the weakness of the “Christ and culture in paradox” group. The largest weakness is that of the Image of God. When the grey areas are presented, it means that that area of life and the world is not “set” in the Bible. It is not as clear as “do not murder” and therefore becomes something of an “unknown” in morality. Since these sections of life are not clear, it is impossible to state one way or the other if they are right, or if they are wrong; that would be the legalism associated with …show more content…
Yet it is important that students hear all sides of an argument rather than simply the answer to the question that the teacher, pastor, or parent believes. Unless you are a Bible teacher this is not something that one would stand in front of a classroom and explain, rather it is something that can be used when talking to a student individually. It is most important in this area that students are taught how to best represent Christ, as, as was mentioned before, with the grey areas can sometimes be a grey area of witness. Understanding how different actions can change a person's witness to others is of top importance to strengthening the weakness of the image of God in a classroom of a type IV. Specifically, in a Spanish class, the topics of reconciliation and the mandate can be presented through literature, the Bible if it is possible, or discussions of culture. There are many cultures that desperation of the world and lack of stewardship can be seen in and starting a conversation about it can make a huge difference. Another idea, if the Bible is not to be used, is presenting the ideas of sharing one’s abilities to focus on others rather than self. This helps both an understanding of how the world was created without the explicit use of biblical ideology and a “worldly” concept of loving one
