My opinion: I agree with the score, as at the moment I feel happy. I might have everyday worries, but I feel grateful for the moment and the goals that I am achieving in life. I feel in better health, and I am not sad about my marriage; although there might be disagreements, we are happy together. In addition, I am grateful for having the opportunity to complete my bachelor’s degree and having a wonderful team at work. The scores might change with circumstances, but it is encouraging that individuals seek happiness and a source of joy and peace. This questionnaire has changed my thoughts about how happy I am. I was not expecting to be very happy, especially living in a difficult country such as Haiti. However, responding to the question helped me realize that my life has aspects that I am grateful for. On the other hand, this test has helped me realize areas where I needed to improve my happiness and helped me to reflect on changes I need to work on. Another change would be to communicate my feelings more with people who have hurt me and I did not dare to share how I feel about it. According to Spielman et al. (2017), “Happiness is an enduring state of well-being involving satisfaction in the pleasant, good, and meaningful aspects of life” (p. 522). As for a good and meaningful life, I have achieved my goals as I can use my skills to impact people in my church and work community; therefore, feeling a sense of purpose and giving me a reason to move on. The only element I think that I am missing is a pleasant life, as the insecurity in my country prevents people from going out for any form of entertainment and the issue is challenging. Overall, I am glad to have had the opportunity to reflect on my happiness throughout the assignment. I am satisfied with my score and I am looking forward to increasing my happiness and making necessary changes. In addition, I am glad that I have a new perspective on what happiness is.
