When considering possible solutions to the poor supply acquisition process that plagued General Washington’s troops at Valley Forge, it is necessary to look at the shortcomings of the supply process during that time. Grizzard (n.d.) stated the following:
“Inadequate administrative procedures, a scarcity of money and the failure of credit, a weak transportation system, and a lack of manufacturing all combined with the natural obstacles of geography and weather to create frequent shortages of food, clothing, tents, and other military supplies throughout the war.”

With this being their designated duty, they would be able to focus on the movement of supplies to the troops. Each detachment would have a supply NCO responsible for the accountability and distribution of incoming items, ensuring that each individual Soldier is getting what they require.
A designated team required to set up and maintain sanitation standards within the camp would have cut down on the unnecessary deaths at Valley Forge. This team will designate areas for animal harvesting and carcass disposal, food preparation, bathrooms, separated NCO/troop/family sleeping areas, and medical treatment. This team would rely on the NCOs in camp to enforce the guidelines, and correct infractions.
