Introduction:
Domestic violence has been around for decades and for a long time it remained a topic that was not brought to public light because of its role in culture. Nowadays it has become an epidemic that has yet to be solved with proper policy. Domestic violence can seem to be a discriminatory crime when committed, however it is in fact a very inclusive crime. It effects people of different genders, races, ethnicities, cultures, and religious affiliations. Anyone can fall victim to domestic violence. Being that this is such a broad issue there are lots of different opinions, resolutions, and policies that have been implemented to try and solve it, however, it still seems to be an issue. Many people are getting away with domestic violence crimes because they simply do not fall under the definition that is seemingly outdated and non-inclusive.
