My topic for the project was advertisements and how it fits in with visual psychology. While working on this project I learned vast amounts of new information and I actually enjoyed doing this research. It was a very interesting topic to look at and also very intriguing to see how advertisements changed over the years but had many of the same basic principles. Advertisements are all around us and we are bombarded by them from day one, but it’s a little crazy to think that each one is specifically put together to try to adjust our brain chemicals and reactions so that we will buy a particular product. It’s a scary thought that companies have people who strictly do this to try and get into people’s minds. Neuroscientists can now find jobs in this field and so can psychologists, (just like John B. Watson) and be very productive in doing so. This is a topic that could be looked at even more, because there is so much information out there but I still learned very much from what I was able to find. I would without a doubt like to learn even more about the topic and I think it would be interesting to meet some of these companies’ marketers and see what they think about this topic. It would be interesting to compare a company’s ideas on advertisements to that of consumers, and see what they have to say. However, my favorite part of doing the project was looking across different advertisements to use for my presentation. I spent a pretty long time just viewing
