Vitamin & Mineral intake essay
My diet analysis shows that Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C, D, and E were on record. Also these two Vitamins were in the daily report: Beta-carotene, Folate. The Minerals included Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium, Sodium, and Zinc. We need minerals and vitamins to help keep the body strong and healthy. Minerals help maintain blood and tissues. I was unaware that selenium help prevented cancer. Cancer runs on both sides of my family so I believe I could begin taking this supplement. Vitamins help your health with bones, skin, hair, and teeth. Both minerals and vitamins help provide the body with energy.
The report of the three day diet tracker Vitamin A was 22% which is 194.56 calories and the recommended 900, Vitamin C was 60 %, and another vitamin that I didn’t intake 75% of is Vitamin D and that was only 7 %. I was below 75% in all three of these vitamins. Minerals, I was below 75% for potassium and magnesium. Magnesium was at 33% which is extremely low. Potassium was at 52%. Vitamins and minerals increase the amount of strength in the muscles and body. Foods that have a good source of vitamins/minerals are seafood, breads, meats ,and beans. Fish and vegetables would be the most healthiest. But meats and beans have a good source of vitamins and minerals. I will not eat seafood’s, I will eat beans anytime of the day.
Three minerals that are below 75% of the RDA are Calcium, Zinc, and Magnesium.
