The War That Saved My Life The title of the book I read is The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley I think the genre of the book is realistic fiction. I would describe this book as, dramatic, because even on the first page, it shows how abusive Ada’s “Mam” is. Detailed because all throughout the story it describes everything to a T, that being Ada’s appearance, or what she’s eating. Sad, because throughout the story, Ada has a clubfoot and her Mam is ashamed of it, so she locked her up in a room and doesn’t let her go outside, or get help for her foot. The story is based in London and the countryside of England, during World War II, this is obvious in the story, because Ada complains about how she likes it in the country,
