Father Coughlin was a powerful, well spoken, persuasive, and intelligent priest that people looked to for answers. During this time that Father Coughlin became popular the Great Depression was in effect and many people who listened to him speak were looking for hope and answers to all the problems going. Since he was so persuasive and well spoken people looked up to him and believed everything he had to say whether he was actually right or wrong. I am not saying his views were completely wrong since those were his beliefs but I don't agree 100% with some of things say because it did cause great controversy. Also I believe that with his popularity and income increasing that he let his ego get too big and that what he had to say was always right.
