The main sources used in this investigation would be Chicagogangs.org. This source gives all history on gangs from old and retired gang members of Chicago. Word count:131
Summary of evidence "The gangs in the Washington park neighborhood consisted of the black disciples also know as "BDs" and and the gangster disciples also known as (GDs) . By the mid-90s the BDs started to grow rapidly and obtaining new territories inside the Roseland and Washington Park neighborhoods. Many GDs were flipping (changing gangs) from GD to BD. Then, the BDs began not to use the pitchfork in their tags, they started to paint it upside down in the opposing parts of Chicago, this goes to show how the GD and BD alliance was slowly fading away. There are still parts in chicago where BDs and GDs share neighborhoods and get along. There are times where the two gangs will form temporary alliances within the whole nations or within certain territories. The BDs didn't move to Washington park until the 90s. History within the gangs show that leaders would run community fundraisers …show more content…
This website was created by an old gang member. The information given for each gang was specifically given by a gang member of that gang. The website gives information such as the neighborhoods these gangs occupied. The maker of this website also is the author of the "Gang Book" that was published in 2012. The Chicago Tribune is a very resourceful newspaper. This source gave statistics for the Washington park neighborhood with all the crimes and violence that goes on around that neighborhood. They use information from city of Chicago data portal where it shows a list of crimes that goes on in each neighborhood. The author of this source had to really analyze that list because it is very long and difficult to understand.
