Air pollution leads to different respiratory and heart problems, while water pollution remains the main source of diarrhea, a disease that is responsible for 1.5 million deaths of children each year. Water is a necessity of life. People and animals need clean drinking water. Farmers need water to grow crops. Unfortunately this precious resource is easily contaminated by agricultural runoff, mining activities, waste treatment, plants, and improperly disposed of industrial waste. This type of pollution can cause long-term health problems for people. Wildlife can also die from exposure. Acid rain contributes to air pollution. When water in the atmosphere mixes with certain chemicals- particularly sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides emitted during the burning of fossil fuels- mild acidic compounds are formed. Acid rain leach toxic aluminum from the soil, which at a low level can stress fish inlaes and streams or, at higher concentration , kill them outright. Acid rain also weakens trees in forests and contributes to air pollution that can harm …show more content…
Recyclables, used clothing, and dead animals are taken out.The objects are heated, but they are not burned. They go under pressure until they decompose. The decomposition process breaks apart the carbon bond in the old veggies and turns into syngas. It’s fermented from a gas to a liquid by bacteria in an aqueous environment- which really means that they live in tanks of water. These bacteria breathe in syngas and eliminate ethanol. Then, the ethanol is distilled from the water. This laborious process is called gasification. Gasification creates a utilitarian substance called synthesis gas, also known as syngas. Syngas has four uses. First use, it can be burned in a boiler to make steam which can be used for energy. Second use, it can be turned into fuel and used to fuel a dedicated gas engine. Third use, it may be suitable for reforming in a gas turbine. Fourth use, it can be used in a chemical feed
