Right now, our world is being primarily powered by nonrenewable energy. That means it can only be used once like fossil fuels, such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Because fossil fuels have a limited supply and can harm the environment, many scientists and world leaders have stressed the need to find alternatives. But there is hope; renewable energy exists! Renewable energy is a source that can be used over and over like water. Two types of techniques are used to capture energy from water: tidal barrages and tidal streams.
The most effective technique is Tidal Stream Power (TSP). TSP is like an underwater windmill that catches underwater currents. The power that is captured from these underwater currents is sent to a generator that changes it into electricity. Except, water is way more powerful than wind. People can be swept away in a river but they can't be swept away by wind. Despite its name, it is not limited to only streams, it can be placed anywhere in a body of water.
The other method of producing energy from natural water is known as Tidal Barrage
Power (TBP). TBP is almost like a dam that catches water in high tide and releases it in low tide. Unlike with TSP, TBP systems are only used in rivers. Then it releases the water through turbines that then goes to a generator that is converted to energy. Even though these technologies seem so easy and effortless, both can take a lot of money to build and maintain. These
