The wealth gap in America is not surprising, to say the least from my perspective, if you look through historical trends of unfairness it is significant, very prominent, and the wealth gap continues to widen massively.

The wealth gap's contribution to social unrest is when the gap becomes excessively wide it can lead to feelings of resentment, dissatisfaction, injustice, and at a disadvantage. It's been known that corporations and the wealthiest of individuals shape the economy to their advantage, and the distribution of wealth is unequal. Adding to that, the wealth gap can exacerbate more social issues like access to healthcare, housing, and education, which leads to mass social unrest and people start demanding systemic change to address
