According to Crash Course, in their video titled “Income Wealth and Economy,” it states that “In 1970, the lowest group received 4.1% of the income and the highest received 43.3%. In 2010, the lowest group only received 3.3% of income while the highest group received a whopping 50.3%” This proves that over the past 50 years, the rich have been slowly receiving more and more of the income to the point where they are earning an insane amount, while the lower class’ income decreased. If we don’t act soon, the rich will take all of the income while the lower and middle class are left with nothing, which would be a very big problem. A second issue that occurs from wealth inequality is that people use it as an excuse to unfairly pay people of color. In the article “Income Wealth and Economy” by the Children’s Defense Fund, it states “In 2021, the median income for White families was twice that of Black, Hispanic, and American Indian families.
