Jean Nidetch founded the Weight Watchers program. She had no prior schooling to developing the Weight Watchers organization. There are two positions in the company; receptionist and leader. What foods or food groups are allowed and encouraged in the program? Why does the program allow these types of foods or food groups?
The Weight Watchers program is not a program designed to take away and certain type of food. It is a program that wants you to was what you want but in moderation. Weight Watchers is a point-based program. Every food has a different point value. Each person has a set daily point value that is uniquely designed for each person, so every person will not have the same daily point value system. Weight Watchers allows you to each all different foods so that you do not have to over indulge and can still have that food you are craving. Fruits and Vegetables are zero points so they are very encouraged with this diet.

What special foods or supplements are required by the program? If no special foods or supplements are required, give a statement explaining this fact.
From what I have read about Weight Watchers, I did not come across anything that talks about supplements. It just appears that by using the daily point value system, each person should be getting all the nutrients that they needs throughout the variety of the foods they eat with this program.
7. Would you consider trying this diet plan? Why or why not? Does the diet plan seem nutritionally balanced?
I haven’t really thought about trying this diet. My mom did it a few years ago and lost over 30 pounds, so I know first hand that it would work. I do believe if I were to go on a diet that this would be a good choice because you are still able to each what you want but in moderation and I think that I would be able to do that and it would be a good fit for me. It is hard for me to cut anything specific out of my diet so this plan seems good. I do believe that this plan is nutritionally balanced if you use it right and being able to eat all foods is great too. I think that diets where you have to cut out food completely is too difficult and can result in people not getting enough
