When the Westboro church went to protest at Matthew Snyder’s funeral, and held signs with phrases that could be interpreted as fighting words, such as “‘Thank God for dead soldiers," `'You're Going to Hell," `'God Hates the USA/Thank God for 9/11,’" Fighting words are not protected by the First Amendment, which means that they are not part of free
