The third person that helped to achieve this movement’s main objectives was Susan B. Anthony. Anthony was born on February 15, 1820 and died on March 13, 1906. She fought for many of women’s rights such as coeducation, which was the teaching of males and females together, and for equal pay and college education for women. The first women’s temperance association, called the Daughters of Temperance, was organized by Anthony. Her first public speech was made at a Daughters of Temperance Supper in 1848. After Anthony met Elizabeth Cady Stanton at a temperance meeting in the 1850s, they began to do a lot of work together to help obtain womens rights.
