In today's modern times, women are postponing having a child to focus on their education and careers. In fact, this delay makes the choice of the right birth control method even more important. The three birth control methods of The Pill, Ortho Evra, and Nexplanon each carry their own advantages and disadvantages.
Formally called “The Pill” is an effective method of birth control. This form of birth control is medicine with hormones that is to be taken every day until she decides enough is enough and she is ready to have a child or she realizes that form of birth control isn't for her. The Pill is safe, affordable, and very effective but only if taken every day at the same time each day. “The contraceptive stops sperm from meeting the egg. The pill is 91% effective, a prescription is required to receive the drug, and it's only cost an even 50 dollars” (Planned Parenthood). Although a great form of birth control, it does not protect you from any sexually transmitted diseases.

“The Patch55 is a hormonal method of contraception obtained by prescription”(). “The transdermal contraceptive patch is a safe, simple, and affordable birth control method that she can wear on the skin of your belly, upper arm, butt, or back. Put a new patch on every week for 3 weeks, and it releases hormones that prevent pregnancy” (Planned Parenthood). Ortho Evra only carries a 3% failure rate along with it, but that's only if used incorrectly. The patch may not protect if she is on certain medications or antibiotics for fungal infections or seizures. “Although women who should not be using this form of birth control are ladies who smoke, have high blood pressure, have breast or uterine cancer, a history of blood clots, or uncontrolled
