A paralegal’s job entails many different facets. Paralegals are educated in legal matters, preparing for trials, interview witnesses, and much more. They are normally hired by law firms and must work under an attorney. Specific tasks of Paralegals include:

• Take notes for attorneys
• Prepare for trial
• Write memos, depositions, procedural motions, and briefs
What Paralegals Can’t Do
Paralegals have many different duties but there are several things they cannot do. A paralegal must work under the supervision of an attorney. They must not give legal advice or services to the public. Paralegals cannot act as an attorney or be “counsel of record”. Also, they cannot sign documents, unless as a notary.
