The image that is advertised presents as a reminder that cultural appropriation is a undoubtable important discussion, and it needs to be discussed with all people from different cultures. Cultural appropriation is when a dominant culture adopts an idea from a minority culture and it can come off as racism. The whole concept of cultural appropriation is a careless because because it can be adopted as racism or stereotyping a culture.

The topic of cultural appropriation has been around since the early 1950s, but it has been a huge deal in the 21st century. Various of celebrities have use different cultural fashions and they do not pay homage to the culture itself. In 2017, celebrity Katy Perry performed in a traditional Japanese dress and believed that she was paying homage to the culture, Japanese Americans disagreed calling her performance as a case of "yellow facing", when a non-east Asian performer uses makeup …show more content…

However, cultural appropriation can be appealed that it can be a acceptable concept because in most of the case that has happened been, someone has taken an idea from a culture to create a new idea out of it; "...it’s not only what makes American culture so rich, but it is also a large part of the reason America is so successful." (www.nytimes.com). The United States is build upon of all cultures and all cultures are celebrated through music, food, fashion, and languages, and they should all be respected.
