OSHA
OSHA was established by the OSH Act of 1970. “OSHA’s mission is to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths” (Bush, 2012, p. 12). The Act grants OSHA the authority to: “establish criterion employers can utilize to protect their employees; promulgate, modify, and revoke safety/health standards; conduct inspections/investigations; issue citations/penalties; require employers to keep safety/health records; petition courts to restrain imminent dangers situations; approve or reject state plans for programs” (Bush, 2012, p. 12).
