Brutus was one of the most significant people who was involved in Julius Caesar’s assassination. At the inception of the play, Brutus enters his orchard and is gathering his thoughts about ways to stop Caesar from ruling Rome because he feels Caesar will abuse his power. Brutus, claims “It must be by his death, and for my part I know no personal cause to spurn at him but for the general. He would be crowned. Calpurnia told Caesar she had a dream in which he was murdered. Decius interfered by attempting to change Caesar’s mind by believing his wife’s dream had a good interpretation instead of the interpretation of his death, His wife had a good dream for the Romans. This passage is supported by Decius’ claim, “This dream is all amiss interpreted. It was a vision fair and fortunate your statue spouting blood in many pipes, In which so many smiling Romans bathed, signifies that from you great Rome shall suck reviving blood…” (2.2.83-87). Decius wanted to persuade Caesar into thinking his wife's dreams were all as just for good foresight and benefit. In order to encourage Caesar to go to the senate and to not give any bad sensations to Caesar, Calpurnia and the Romans in general of what was going to happen later
