He did have many failures in his term. One of the most known failure was that he broke his promise not to make deals with terrorist or states that helped them. The “Iran-Contra” scandal was an arrangement that was done in the “dark”. The arrangement was to provide funds to the Nicaraguan Contra Rebels from profits gained by selling arms to Iran. Reagan also ignored the growing of AIDS. Reagan never publicly talked about AIDS until May 31, 1987 at the AIDS conference, and the first case of AIDS was in the early 1980’s. He also made many mistakes, but no person, especially not a president, is perfect, and I feel like that helped make him a better president, and so did many other people. “Ronald Reagan saved America!” (Debate.org). We all have many different opinions, and sometimes our opinions clash with each other, and having to take on the role of being the President of the United States of America is a hard task, and many people won’t like you, but many will. Their will always be something wrong with someone, somebody won’t like you, and the way you do things, but others will praise you for your work, they will love everything you do, and won’t see any flaw in you, and think you are the best thing that could happen. Other people will be so so with you. They may agree on things that you do and they may disagree on some things you do. So Ronald Reagan to me was an effective leader, but do I agree on some of his decisions no, but do I think he was a good leader?
