What Was The Purpose Of The Revolutionary War

This significant battle was the battle that kicked off the American Revolutionary War. No one knows who or what side fired the first shot, but it is referred to as the shot heard around the world. Hundreds of British marched through Boston To Concord to seize an arms cache. The British had been informed by an anonymous loyalist that said the Americans were hiding a weapon. Unfortunately, for the British, the colonists had already taken all of the weapons.

Purpose
The purpose of the Lexington and Concord battle was for the Americans to gain Independence from Britain. They wanted their independence because Britain treated the colonies unfairly and imposed a lot of taxes and the colonies had unfair treatment. An example of them being treated unfairly is the Intolerable Acts. In addition colonists did not want to obey a King that lived so far away. As generations passed most people did not even know who are what that king looked like, as they did not feel that they had to be loyal to a king they barely knew.
