One reason they are still as dangerous is because many people can't multitask and their minds get distracted focusing on the phone call instead of driving safely. I learned that I can not multitask by my English teacher giving us a quiz to see if my class could multitask and not a single person in my class was able to multitask. Another reason is that as humans we get distracted already easily and have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time not even including a second thing which would make it harder to concentrate. Rarely should cell phones use during driving be permitted. In certain cases I believe that cell phone use should be permitted while driving but only if it is an emergency, such as if you are driving somebody to the hospital. Even though cell phones are unique driving distractions they should not be allowed on the road unless it is a desire emergency. Still if it is an emergency you should either call for help or first pull of the road before using your phone. People have a tendency that during emergencies they drive fast and reckless to get some place because of the emergency. If you add a hand-held cell phone into the mix it is just a disaster waiting to happen, because of the speed and recklessness while driving and then the cell phone with all of its distractions is a
