My dad’s disorders from time to time get the best of him, and it is during those moments I must know what to do to make sure he stays healthy and return to normal the next day. My siblings and parents still stay actively involved in eachother’s lives by supporting each other emotionally and financially, a tight-knit circle I am forever thankful for. While I may not have developed a close network between my teachers or peers, I still have them for emotional support and that gets me through my daily activities to this day. Whenever I feel lonely or at a loss of where I fit into society, I reflect on how my family often times are the ones there to piece together the bad. The close bond I share with my immediate family involves the mesosystem part of the bioecological approach, and these bonds influence my actions. I make my decisions that I believe are in the best interest of not only myself but my family. I keep a positive attitude in front of my little sister so she can grow up knowing that as she gets older the adult world is not as grueling as social media places …show more content…
With the aid of the government, I am able to continue my education of health services through scholarships and grants. I have this opportunity to further educate myself and decide a professional career to find my role in life based from the programs setup by the government. As for the macrosystem, growing up I learned how often times there was a stigma placed against my dad due to his disabilities such as diabetes and cerebral palsy. The influences of those stigmas, that are often time unconscious, displaced my trust in people but going through education I learned how the healthcare system is trying to combat those stigmas through programs. Furthering my education has also led me to not let any bias of my own alter how I treat others, especially those of another minority or disability. All of these systems are ever-changing in my life due to the chronosystem involved, as I get older I am learning more about how society operates while undergoing the cultural shifts that social media is broadcasting. Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory focuses on how cognitive development proceeds as a result of social interactions between members of a
