November 22, 1963 was a day that would change the world forever. On that day, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald as he rode with his motorcade through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas Texas. Three shots were fired at President Kennedy, the first shot happened to miss him, while the second shot hit the President at the base of his neck right next to his spine exiting the front of his neck, and the third shot struck the President in the back of the head exiting the front of his head hitting Governor John Connolly. There has been speculation that Oswald did not act alone, that he could have had help. It is said that the jobs and the agents are kept as secrets to most Americans. In 1960 the agency had a reputation for “high-level political assassinations”. Along with the Cubans being upset, the CIA was also very upset with Kennedy’s failure at the Bay of Pigs in 1961. The Bay of Pigs was an attack on Communist lead Cuba currently being led by Fidel Castro, the attack on Cuba was led by President Kennedy with United States trained Cuban soldiers. In this battle, Kennedys troops were highly outnumbered causing them to be pushed back instead of advancing and winning the fight. Kennedy’s relationship with the CIA was definitely breaking apart, Lisa Pease; a Los Angeles-based author and researcher said “It would be odd in a way if [the CIA] didn’t go after Kennedy”. It is said that Oswald was a supposed CIA operative, but agents tampered with his FBI file before and after the assassination investigation to make him appear as a communist.
