Children over the age of twelve were used for forced labor. So the children who would work, had a greater chance of surviving. On the other hand, little children who couldn’t be used for forced labor were usually sent immediately to death camps. They were killed in killing centers, killed immediately after birth, or killed during reprisal operations. Children and their family were also sent to ghettos. Most children would survive in the ghettos because people living in the ghettos hid them. But children would also die because of starvation and lack of clothing and shelter.
