Three years ago when I started at Naubuc, I only knew my daughters’ closest friends. However, I take a significant amount of time to get to know students and understand them, while synchronously supporting them. I advocate for students, encourage students, and genuinely care about them. I approach things differently, which is why students are comfortable with me and open up to me. Suffice to say, it is important for me to enjoy what I do and to feel valued and appreciated. I am happiest when I feel professionally challenged and my job is meaningful. However, I’m frustrated and unmotivated when people treat me like a babysitter. I’m intelligent and I have a 4.0 GPA to prove it. I am optimistic, not naïve.
